Nephelis ancient city

Nephelis is on a high hill extending towards the sea within the borders of Muzkent Village of Gazipaşa district, 55 kilometers east of Alanya. At the highest point of the hill are the acropolis of the ancient city and the fortress walls dating back to the Middle Ages. The temple from the Roman period has survived until the pediment level. Nephelis is a typical Mountainous Cilicia city with its odeon, water system, limestone quarry and necropolis area.
The name of the city was not found in the archeology literature. However, it can be localized as Nephelis. Transportation is provided on the 15th km of Gazipaşa Mersin highway and 5 km on the road. The city consists of three parts.
A) Remains of buildings on the plain known as Ala Church.
B) Akrapol and its slopes
C) North part
The building in the first part has a rectangular planned multi-room.
It is located on the small hill in the north of Akrapol in the second part and on its slopes. The fortification walls are partially intact. There is a ruin of a structure here, which has the characteristics of a temple.
The third part is where there is only one destroyed building. The city has a large acropolis and a stone bed.
